Women's

Women constitute a significant proportion of trade union membership and their presence is very visible in the workplace.  The key challenge would be to ensure that women’s views and concerns are effectively reflected in employment policies and at the workplace.  For this to happen, there must be an adequate representation of women at all levels of union leadership.  Active participation and involvement in the trade unions will provide such opportunity.

To achieve this, the Women Committee will continue to do its part in raising awareness about issues affecting women, organize activities designed to broaden women’s experiences and skills and work closely with various social partners to introduce family friendly practices at the workplace.  It will continue to hold activities to benefit women and induct them into taking up leadership positions.
